Château Malartic-Lagravière 2010

This full-bodied blend of 85% Sauvignon Blanc and 15% Semillon reached 14.5% natural alcohol. It is deep and rich, with loads of caramelized grapefruit, tropical fruit, subtle oak, wet stones and plenty of melons. Drink now through 2035.

Ripe and lush, with lots of creamed yellow apple, melon and white peach flavors carried by an alluring, lightly toasted brioche note. This has the vintage's punch in the end, kept honest by a lively citrus accent. Drink now through 2014. 1,250 cases made.

This is rich in the welcoming texture of a good white vintage, and has retained a beautiful freshness as it has aged. The fruit character is still full of life, pliable and juicy, with nectarine and white pear flesh layered over slate, and my money is on this aging for a good decade from this point.

Majority Sauvignon and there’s more evidence of Sauvignon character here than on most. Slightly hard on the finish. (JH)

The wine has gained momentum, shed some of its youthful OK trappings, and now delivers more invigorating lemon, lime, pomelo and floral sensations. Rich in texture yet with equal lift, this is really good in your glass today.

Very pure, floral nose, stony, mineral with ripe citrus, gentle oak, some creamy notes; the palate is youthful, vivid, with good bite, bright freshness, minerality, some zesty notes; a long, clear finish, very elegant and attractive. Shows class!

Fresh, Burgundian, elegant, delicately bitter, mineral bouquet, white peach, almonds, subtle citrus, passion fruit. Elegant, silky, multi-layered palate with fine fruit, powerful mineral aromatics, well-integrated ripe acidity, very long, full finish. 18/20 2014 - 2028

Beautiful golden hue, notes of citrus and boxwood, great intensity on the palate, savory and rich volume, lingering savory finish, in a more varietal style.

This medium-bodied wine shows unusual complexity and elegance thanks to its lovely freshness.

Bright yellow with a greenish sheen. A brilliant minerality on the nose conveying terroir, white smoke, white truffle and light noble woods, with subtly green pineapple and sun-ripened lemons. Complex palate which, despite its creamy flow, also delivers plenty of freshness from the extract. A mildly elegant wine with great classicism. If it puts into bottle everything promised at the en primeur tasting, it will rank among the greatest Sauvignon Blancs in the world! Tasted three times. For me, it is the best dry white wine of the 2010 vintage, thus to be rated above Haut-Brion Blanc and La Mission Haut-Brion Blanc. If that isn’t an affair!

A fruity, ripe wine with lemon and pineapple flavors alongside a fine tang of citrus. It's beautifully marked with wood aging to give a rounded, rich mouthfeel. It also has the texture to mellow into a more nuanced wine in 4–5 years.
