Château Peyrabon 2024

Fresh bouquet, herbal notes, dark fruit, hints of coriander; on the palate, straightforward, firm, noticeable tannins, fine acidity, medium length.

Minty, menthol nose, Cabernet markers. Floral touches with liquorice and black chocolate. Quite sour, tart fruit gives an immediate zing in the mouth. Clean and sleek, a core of clove and cedar spice with bitter black chocolate edges but good persistence. Vivid colour, good structure with pure fruit and lifted acidity. Fun, zesty bitter orange with some iodine notes too. A little tense still at the end. 3.5pH.

Earthy cherries, with a touch of sage, form the character of this easy-going, already-drinkable wine. You can enjoy this on release for easy pleasure. The wine blends 63% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot and 3% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2027-2035. 89-91 pts
