Antonio Galloni

The 2022 Poesia is rich and effusive, just as it was en primeur. Black cherry, plum, mocha and espresso build into a sumptuous Saint-Émilion with gorgeous textural breadth. Time in the glass opens the aromatics nicely.

Salty chocolates, black plums, black raspberries, flowers, cocoa, and licorice pack the aromatics. The palate, with its elegant, soft, plush, and silky fruits is fresh, long, and complex. The minerality, coupled with just a hint of chocolate-mint on the finish, is the perfect touch to end the wine with. The wine blends 70% Merlot with 30% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2026–2047.

The 2022 Château Poesia is 70% Merlot and 30% Cabernet Franc that's from more limestone soils, brought up in a mix of barrels (50% new) and tank. It brings more elegance and finesse compared to Château D'Arce and has beautiful black raspberry and red plum fruit intermixed with smoky tobacco, chalky minerality, and a huge floral, incense-like character. It's full-bodied, has a pure, layered, elegant mouthfeel, ripe tannins, and a beautiful finish.

Inky, intense and glass-staining in colour. This shows a powerful construction from start to finish, with concentrated damson and black cherry fruits, and a wall of tannins. Located in a cooler sector of Saint-Émilion near Château Peby Faugeres, 40–60cm of clay then hits limestone; a 3.39 pH gives a pretty powerful hit of acidity on the opening beats. In the Leveque family since 2013, and they have since replanted more than half of the vineyard; final yield 25 hl/ha.

Poesia’s élevage is still clearly expressed through cocoa notes, but it quickly gives way to intense chalky tones complemented by black-berry notes and cocoa beans. The chalky character also defines the attack. The wine is tonic, incisive, and mouthwatering. The powerful tannins provide solid backbone, while the saline, juicy finish highlights the exceptional freshness of the clay-limestone terroir. A mouthwatering, persistent wine. It is exceptional

Dark, deep red color. Intense, fruity and creamy nose. Hint of orange peel. Cocoa and truffle notes when the glass is swirled. Very precise on the attack, highly aromatic mid-palate, with complex nuances never seen here and classy texture; the wine builds powerfully on the finish and remains consistently fleshy. Long finish. Blend: 2/3 Merlot, 1/3 Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 15% - pH: 3.39. Yield: 26 hl/ha. Production: 26,000 bottles.
