Description
Tasting notes and recommendations for Château Quintus 2025
Tasting
Appearance
Deep and intense, the color reveals a particularly radiant purple hue.
Nose
Highly charming, the bouquet reveals intense aromas of blackcurrant intertwined with subtle spicy notes.
Palate
The attack is generous and full of elegance. The palate, broad and tactile, offers a beautiful fruit density supported by great freshness. The characteristic mineral framework of the great Saint-Émilion terroirs is present throughout. The finish, delicious and slightly saline, perfectly completes this accomplished wine where the blend enhances the terroir.
A sun-filled and fresh Saint-Émilion wine by Château Quintus
The estate
Château Quintus was born from the union of the terroirs of Château Tertre Daugay and Château L’Arrosée, acquired by the family company Domaine Clarence Dillon in 2011 and 2013 respectively. This Right Bank estate in Bordeaux is thus the fifth property of the Domaine Clarence Dillon group, alongside Châteaux Haut-Brion and La Mission Haut-Brion. The estate takes its name from the Gallo-Roman tradition of naming the fifth child Quintus.
The vineyard
Château Quintus is a Saint-Émilion wine produced from a 42-hectare vineyard, distinguished by its mosaic of terroirs. Averaging 30 years of age, the vines are planted on the plateau across successive south-facing limestone layers, as well as on clay-limestone and gravel soils with exposures ranging from south to north of the estate.
The vintage
The year was marked by particularly sunny conditions and a season dominated by heat. This weather favored the formation of small berries, ensuring excellent concentration. The harvest took place from September 8 to 22, 2025, resulting in a highly successful balance between sunshine and terroir.
Winemaking and aging
This wine is aged with 40% new oak barrels.
Grape varieties
The blend of Château Quintus 2025 consists of 73.2% Merlot and 26.8% Cabernet Franc.
