Decanter

Black fruit and fragranced notes on the nose. Smooth and supple, round and really excellently weighted, nothing out of place with plenty of minty cool freshness, licks of graphite, liquorice and wet stones with a softly chalky finish. Excellent bargain this year. Plenty to like, easy to drink with a really classic, approachable aspect. This stands out this year. 3.80pH. A yield of 30hl/ha. 5% Petit Verdot completes the blend.

Jane Anson

Firm, floral, fragrant plum, red cherry, pumice stone and slate tannins, good intensity, this has balance, a little tart on the finish, but has oak-driven charm that will soften further over the next year in bottle. No need to wait too long to begin enjoying. Harvest 11 to 23 September. 25% new oak. 30hl/ha yield.

Yves Beck

Sénéjac’s bouquet is still a little restrained, but it shows promising hints with notes of pepper and black berries. The palate is creamy on the attack, with compact, powerful tannins that bring energy and breadth. They are paired with a structuring acidity that creates harmony and underscores freshness. A consistent, promising wine.

Vinum

Dark fruit, a hint of mocha and herbal spice; on the palate it’s juicy and fresh, with very fine tannins, wonderfully balanced. The wine shows pedigree and polish, with a long finish. Perhaps the best Château Senéjac I’ve tasted so far.

Particularly expressive, it releases beautiful aromas of black fruits, subtly enhanced by fragrant notes and hints of spice.

The elegance of a Haut-Médoc wine by Château Sénéjac

The estate

Located in Le Pian-Médoc in the Bordeaux region, Château Sénéjac boasts a rich history, with the first vines planted in the 16th century and an official mention in 1589. After belonging to the de Guigné family for over a century, the estate was acquired in 1999 by the Cordier family. Today, the Bignon-Cordier family, led by Nancy Bignon-Cordier, is at the helm of the property. This estate combines respect for Médoc traditions with technical modernisation, producing wines renowned for their quality.

The vineyard

The terroir of the Haut-Médoc appellation extends here over an area of 34 hectares. The vines, with an average age of 40 years, are planted on deep gravel soils at a density of 6,600 vines per hectare. The estate is certified High Environmental Value level 3 (HVE 3), reflecting a strong commitment to viticulture that respects biodiversity.

Vinification and ageing

The harvest of this vintage took place under excellent conditions between 11 and 23 September 2025. The grapes, picked both manually and mechanically, undergo rigorous successive sorting. For Château Sénéjac 2025, fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks. The wine then benefits from ageing for 12 months in barrels, 25% of which are new. Alcohol content: 13.2% vol.

Grape varieties

This wine is made from a blend of 52% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 8% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot.
