Aromas of sweet raspberries, orange zest, petals and earthy spices introduce the 2021 Hautes-Côtes de Beaune Altitude 421 Bignon, a medium to full-bodied, supple and fleshy wine with more mid-palate volume and texture than its generic counterpart.

What a wild nose of cloves, cracked pepper, sage and red cherries, with some white pepper and watermelon rind. It’s so bright and peppery, with a medium body and tight, stemmy tannins. Then a long and mineral finish. The name comes from the fact that the Bignon site is 421 meters above sea level. From biodynamically grown grapes with Demeter certification. Try from 2024.
