Domaine des Lambrays : Puligny-Montrachet 1er cru "Les Folatières" 2022

Pure, subtle and soft-spoken, with aromas of minerals, spiced lemons and touches of roasted pineapple and seashells, which become more lifted on the palate. Medium- to full-bodied with good substance. Dry, tense and harmonious. Drink now or hold.

The 2022 Puligny-Montrachet Les Folatières 1er Cru shows a little more richness on the nose compared to the showing from barrel. It's lightly honeyed with white flowers and melted candle wax. The palate is similar, fairly pithy, with plenty of extract. It's “chewy” for a Puligny (actually quite Chassagne in style) with a brisk, lightly spiced finish.

Fairly chalky and citrusy, Les Folatières does not lack intensity: it is still a little marked by its élevage, with a slightly languid finish.
