Description

Characteristics and Tasting Tips for the Vosne-Romanée Village Joseph Faiveley 2024 from Domaine Faiveley

Colour

This wine reveals a deep ruby hue with the purple highlights characteristic of young Pinot Noir from the Côte de Nuits.

Nose

The nose opens with fresh red fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry, supported by light spicy notes and a floral touch of violet.

Palate

The attack is supple and fruity, carried by fine tannins and well-integrated acidity. The finish, of beautiful length, reveals the minerality typical of the Vosne-Romanée terroir.

Food and Wine Pairing

This wine naturally finds its place alongside foie gras served with onion confit, as well as with game and red meats. It also pairs well with slow-cooked dishes, such as a leg of lamb cooked for several hours, whose deep flavours complement the typicity of Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir.

Serving and Cellaring

The Vosne-Romanée Village Joseph Faiveley 2024 is ideally served at a temperature of around 15°C, in order to preserve all the aromatic finesse of this Côte de Nuits appellation.

The Estate

Domaine Faiveley was founded in 1825 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the heart of Burgundy. Since then, the Faiveley family has run the business without interruption, today embodied by the brother-and-sister duo Erwan and Eve Faiveley, the seventh generation at the helm of the estate. The vineyard as a whole extends over approximately 120 to 125 hectares, spread across the Côte de Nuits, the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise and Chablis, and includes several renowned monopoles such as Corton Clos des Cortons Faiveley. The estate is committed to a full conversion to organic farming, with certification from the 2025 vintage.

The Vineyard

The Vosne-Romanée Village Joseph Faiveley, classified as a Village appellation, comes from plots located in the Vosne-Romanée appellation, one of the emblematic terroirs of the Côte de Nuits. The soils, composed of limestone and marl, provide a favourable foundation for the expression of Pinot Noir, the only grape variety permitted in this appellation. These vines form part of the overall Domaine Faiveley vineyard, which is engaged in an organic conversion process across all of its Burgundy plots.

Vinification and Ageing

The vinification of the Vosne-Romanée Village Joseph Faiveley 2024 follows the estate's philosophy, which favours measured extraction and careful ageing in order to preserve the purity of the fruit and the typicity of the terroir. This approach, led by the Domaine Faiveley technical team, seeks to combine a fine tannic structure with discreet oak, in keeping with the estate's contemporary style. This wine has an alcohol content of 13%.

Grape Variety

100% Pinot Noir, the only grape variety permitted under the Vosne-Romanée appellation.
