The estate

Located in the heart of the Languedoc, Domaine Léon Barral was officially founded in 1993. Named in honour of the family's grandfather, the estate is now run by Didier Barral, who represents the thirteenth generation of winegrowers on these lands. A true pioneer, he transformed this heritage into a recognised, independent estate. Renowned for its forward-thinking approach and deep respect for the ecosystem, the producer stands out for its innovative agricultural philosophy, establishing the estate as one of the region's key references.

The vineyard

The vines cover around thirty hectares surrounding the small hamlet of Lenthéric, within the Faugères appellation. Resting on schist soils, this terroir benefits from a visionary agronomic approach. Farmed according to biodynamic principles adopted as early as 1995, the vineyard functions as a self-sufficient ecosystem. Soil management, the integration of mixed farming and livestock, and natural methods for combating pests or drought all contribute to producing grapes of optimal quality.

Winemaking and aging

The making of the Tradition Barral 2022 relies on a natural and innovative approach. Thanks to the perfection of the harvested berries, the winemaking process is carried out without any external chemical intervention, thus preserving the purest expression of the fruit.

Grape varieties

This cuvée is crafted from a blend of historic varieties from the region, including Carignan, Grenache and Cinsault, complemented by other long-established grape varieties.
