Domaine Viret : Dolia 1 Paradis 2010

The 2010 Dolia 1 Paradis from Domaine Viret is a perfect expression of the famous Rhone Valley grape varieties. Indeed, it is a blend of 50% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Mourvèdre and 10% Carignan. Its particularity comes from its vinification. It is aged in amphora - Dolia in Antiquity - and in full grains without addition of oenological products, since the goal is to preserve the delicate fruit flavours, as well as the perfectly elaborated and distinguished tannins; that is to say melted tannins. The 2010 Dolia 1 Paradis from Domaine Viret seduces with its deep and bright colour. The nose is mainly fruit-forward. On the palate, one can detect silky tannins, a nice minerality and pleasant fruit purity. It is a remarkably fresh wine which distinguishes itself from the other vintages.
