Decanter

Blackcurrant leaf, dark fruit and some black chocolate and dried floral scents. Supple with lovely energy and flex. Grippy but also chewy so you get texture and weight without any dryness or austerity. Juicy, lively, still grippy with a chalky, salty touch to the finish. Nice nuance and approachability while keeping a cool, blueberry element all the way through. ‘Lightly’ presented, certainly nothing overdone here. Bravo.

Black cherries, plums, licorice, and flowers set up the perfume. The medium-bodied wine is bright and fresh, with a juicy, fruity, already easy-to-drink finish. This is a super baby Lynch Bages! The wine is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc. Drink from 2028-2040. 90-92 Pts

Deep and rich in colour. Structured, toasted spice, dark chocolate, espresso, graphite, mint leaf. Great stuff, easy to recommend, one to look out for. 3.60 pH. 20% new oak. Harvest September 9 to 21. A far clearer link with the main Lynch Bages estate than many 2nd wines in the vintage, and one of the 'sibling' wines of the vintage. Nicolas Labenne technical director.

Echo’s bouquet unfolds in a crescendo. Initially reserved, it expresses itself delicately through notes of blackcurrant, then cinnamon, licorice and, finally, a touch of eucalyptus. Slightly mellow and creamy on the attack, the wine is broad on the palate and follows the bouquet’s logic: it gains in intensity as it develops, ultimately building a solid framework where tannins and acidity are in harmony. The juicy, fruity finish points to a very promising future. An Echo that heralds the Grand Vin to which it will truly respond.

Beautiful deep red color. The nose is intense, fine, fruity, pure, subtle and vanilla-scented. A hint of cherries and a Port-like note when the glass is swirled. Full-bodied on the attack, especially fruity on the mid-palate, with substance and tannins slightly marked by oak, the wine shines with its flavors through a long, tasty finish. Very good. Blend: 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, 1% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 13° – pH: 3.63. Press wine: 3%.

Vinum

Expressive, floral, with herbal spicy notes, dark fruit and cedarwood; a creamy opening, generous fruit, well-judged tannins, and a saline finish. A successful, fresh yet powerful Echo de Lynch-Bages.

The elegance of a great Pauillac wine by Château Lynch-Bages

The estate
Located in the Bordeaux region, Château Lynch-Bages is a flagship estate of the Pauillac appellation. While the first vineyard plots date back to the 17th century, the estate truly took shape in its current identity in the 18th century with the arrival of the Lynch family. Classified as a Fifth Growth in 1855, the property was acquired in 1939 by Jean-Charles Cazes. Today, Jean-Michel Cazes oversees this historic vineyard. The family has successfully developed this prestigious name by combining viticultural excellence with a modern and authentic wine tourism offering.

The vineyard
The exceptional terroir of this wine extends over 105 hectares in the heart of the Pauillac appellation. The vines thrive on deep Garonne gravel mounds, a particularly well-draining soil that stores daytime heat and releases it at night. This privileged location, overlooking the Gironde estuary, provides an ideal microclimate that promotes optimal grape ripening.

The wine

Écho de Lynch-Bages is the Second Wine of the prestigious Grand Cru Classé of Pauillac, Château Lynch-Bages.

The vintage
The year 2025 stands out for its remarkable earliness, ranking among the earliest since 1989. The growing season began with a mild winter that allowed for good water reserves, followed by early and even budbreak. Spring proved warm and generally dry. The scorching summer was fortunately tempered by welcome rainfall at the end of August, providing perfect weather conditions for balanced ripening ahead of an early harvest.

Winemaking and ageing
The harvest took place by hand between September 9 and 21, with an average yield of 30 hL/ha. Rigorous sorting was carried out directly in the vineyard and then on sorting tables to retain only the finest berries. The wine was then aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, including 20% new oak. Alcohol: 13% vol.

Grape varieties
The blend of Echo de Lynch-Bages 2025 is composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 34% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc.
