La Fugue de Nénin 2014

The 2014 Fugue de Nenin offers light red cherry, strawberry pastilles and bergamot scents on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied with light tannin, simple dark berry fruit laced with white pepper, leading to an easygoing and lithe, but well-defined finish. Enjoy this Deuxième Vin over the next four or five years.

A relatively fresh, open style, with a beam of raspberry confiture riding through, backed by red licorice and sweet incense notes. Offers a polished finish. Drink now through 2022. 6,665 cases made.

Love the clarity to this second wine of Nenin with strawberry and cherry aromas that follow through to a full to medium body, a solid core of fruit and very polished tannins. Drink in 2020.

95% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, because most of the very good Cabernet Franc went into the grand vin. Light and sweet with an undertow of coffee grounds. Really quite 'Lite' in structure. Dryish. (JR)

The nose is fresh and fruity, revealing fruit notes with hints of violet and cornflower. The palate is fruity, juicy, rich, mineral, very fresh, dynamic, and offers tension. On the palate, this wine shows notes of blueberry cream and crushed strawberry, with touches of blackcurrant and raspberry, as well as subtle notes of spices and pepper on the finish. The tannins are well integrated. Good length.

Dense with almost 100% Merlot, this is a rich wine. It has tannins that are cushioned by the ripe fruit and lifted by the acidity. The wine is dense with fruit, likely to develop quickly. Drink from 2022.
