Description

Characteristics and tasting notes of Reuilly Blanc 2023 Les Vins d'Emmanuelle

Tasting notes

Colour
Displaying beautiful brilliance, this wine's colour is tinged with a delicate pale yellow, enhanced by shimmering green highlights.

Nose
Intense and wonderfully fresh, the aromatic bouquet opens with notes of fresh citrus, such as lemon, and white flowers. It then reveals a precise mineral undertone reminiscent of gunflint, harmoniously rounded out by touches of white-fleshed fruit such as pear.

Palate
The attack is lively and perfectly balanced with a medium-bodied structure. The palate unfolds with beautiful fruit concentration, blending citrus and stone fruit flavours while retaining a refreshing tension. The finish, persistent and marked by a mineral salinity, reflects the purity of its terroir.

Food and wine pairing

This white wine from France pairs wonderfully with seafood, such as firm-fleshed or grilled fish, scallops or clams. It also pairs beautifully with light vegetarian dishes, sweet-and-sour Asian cuisine, and regional goat cheeses.

Service and storage

Best enjoyed young, this Reuilly Blanc 2023 will reveal all its charms if enjoyed until around 2027.

Other characteristics

This wine has an alcohol content of 13%.

The authentic expression of Loire terroir by Les Vins d'Emmanuelle

The estate

Hailing from an iconic Loire family whose winemaking history dates back to 1513, Emmanuelle Mellot now runs her own négociant house, Les Vins d'Emmanuelle. Independent from the family estate, she created this venture to express her personal vision. Working hand in hand with partner winegrowers committed to sustainable and environmentally friendly practices, she focuses on showcasing the region's lesser-known appellations. Her cuvées, born of rigorous selection, faithfully illustrate the richness and diversity of Centre-Loire terroirs.

The vineyard

Located in the eastern part of the region, the Reuilly appellation's vineyard enjoys a continental climate, drier and warmer than on the coast, favouring slow and optimal ripening of the berries. The vines thrive on distinctive soils, with a surface layer of sand and gravel that stores heat, resting on a deep limestone bedrock. This particular geology gives the grapes their characteristic freshness and mineral salinity.

The vintage

The 2023 growing season, marked by a warm continental climate, allowed the fruit to reach optimal ripeness. This favourable growing cycle fostered the development of a beautiful aromatic richness, revealing floral and fruity notes while preserving the terroir's signature minerality.

Winemaking and aging

Crafted with a minimal-intervention approach, this Reuilly Blanc 2023 is vinified in a way that preserves the purity of the fruit and the freshness of the grape variety. The absence of oak aging and careful protection against oxidation allow this cuvée to retain all its vitality and brightness.

Grape variety

100% Sauvignon Blanc.
