The smoothness and elegance of a Roussillon wine by M. Chapoutier

The estate

Founded in 1808 in the Rhône Valley, the Maison M. Chapoutier is now an international benchmark, driven by a biodynamic approach and precise plot-by-plot work. In 2000, the acquisition of the Bila-Haut estate in Roussillon illustrated this desire to explore sunny and complex terroirs. Michel Chapoutier leads the Maison alongside his children, Mathilde and Maxime. Committed to an inclusive approach with its Braille labels, the estate also stands out for its deep respect for the environment and its pursuit of a faithful expression of each terroir.

The vineyard

Located in the Agly Valley, in the Latour de France area, this vineyard within the Côtes du Roussillon Villages appellation benefits from a dry climate strongly influenced by the tramontane wind. The vines, aged 40 to 70 years, thrive on steep hillsides with complex soils combining brown and black schist, gneiss bringing freshness, and limestone elements. Cultivated under strict biodynamic practices, without chemical inputs, this terroir preserves the full vitality of its soils. The name of the cuvée, "Visitare Interiore Terrae", reflects the desire to reveal the depth of the soil.

The vintage

In the Roussillon, the very dry spring of 2025 slowed vegetative growth while ensuring good aeration of the grape clusters. A very rainy July revived growth and increased downy mildew pressure, which was controlled thanks to biodynamic practices. After high temperatures, a cooler September allowed for steady ripening. The wines therefore display lovely freshness, balanced acidity, and supple tannins.

Grape varieties

Grenache and Syrah.
