The estate
Founded in 2001 by Thibault Liger-Belair, the estate now spans eight hectares in the Côte de Nuits and fourteen hectares in Beaujolais. Located in Nuits-Saint-Georges, this family-run estate, whose roots date back to 1720, has become an essential benchmark. Certified organic and practicing biodynamics, Thibault Liger-Belair stands out as a talented winemaker, vinifying with a sensitive touch to express the nobility of these terroirs.
The vineyard
The named plot Les Perrelles lies on the historic hill of the Moulin-à-Vent appellation. The soils are characterized by a manganese-rich granitic substratum, poor and lean, particularly well-suited to expressing Gamay. This parcel benefits from different altitude and exposure levels, creating micro-variations within the terroir.
The vintage
The 2020 vintage stands out for its sunny, generous character. The climatic conditions made it possible to obtain grapes with high ripeness, offering concentration and balance.
Winemaking and ageing
The harvest was carried out by hand with rigorous sorting. Fermentation took place with indigenous yeasts. The wine underwent partial ageing in barrels, allowing for harmonious integration while preserving the fruit’s freshness.
