Château de Fieuzal 2021

A lovely, intensely floral nose. On the palate, crunchy green apple and bright, zesty lime with hints of brioche and lemon meringue pie. Supple and taut with both sweet and sour elements—the fruit and acidity are to the fore, yet neatly framed with excellent energy and overall structure. This is shaping up nicely, showing lots of promise with crispness and a salty touch on the finish.

Pretty nose of gooseberries, sliced apples, lime curd and nutmeg. Touch of jackfruit. Fresh, bright and balanced with a medium body and delicious layers of fruit, spice and minerals. Drink now or hold.

65% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Sémillon. The Sauvignon is clear on the nose with grassy citrus aromas. Open and aromatic. High acidity, almost too much for the fruit, but fine if you are an acid freak. Beware if you are not. Very Sauvignon, the varietal character moderated by the rounded, leesy texture. (JH)

Orange rind, flowers, honeysuckle, yellow citrus, lemon peel, spice and grapefruit aromas draw your attention on the nose. On the palate, the wine is fresh, vibrant, slightly chalky, and packed with candied oranges and white peaches. Drink from 2024-2034.

Very pale yellow-green, silver reflections. Delicate meadow herbs, a touch of lime zest, white apple and some gooseberry notes. Juicy, tightly meshed with a mineral-lemon edge and a touch of fresh pear, an attractive food companion.

Lemon and lime, mint, and sappy, subtle grassy notes all emerge from the 2021 Château De Fieuzal Blanc, a racy, medium-bodied, mineral-laced white that shows good purity and tension on the palate.

Kunz barrel sample 2022: (65% Sauvignon Blanc, 35% Sémillon, 12.8% alc./vol.) Powerful, velvety, full bouquet, lemon cream, mint, fresh herbs. Dense, fresh, and vigorous palate with creamy fruit, very well-integrated acidity, powerful aromatics, long, fresh finish. Has room to improve further.

Excellent quality in bottle as it was En Primeur, showing grip and lift without sacrificing fleshy fruit, with poised, chiselled green apple, pear and stone-fruit character and a salted caramel and toasted cracker finish. Easy to recommend. Bottled under Diam cork.

A sun-drenched, even tropical bouquet for a vintage that is nonetheless fresh. Pear, lychee and English sweets make up a complex nose. More linear on the palate, it offers a creamy texture but above all a crisp, refreshing acidity that lengthens the finish.

Fieuzal 2021 stands out with intensity and breadth. It isn’t overwhelming, but precise, intent on shining as much through its vigor as through its subtlety. And it succeeds! The wine has temperament, salinity and density. It shows a crunchy, mouthwatering side that ensures its freshness and drinkability, while also offering energy, depth and a structure that guarantee its ageing potential. A accomplished, complete, versatile wine, perfectly in tune with the times!

Greenish yellow color. Moderately intense yet subtle nose. Nuances of pink grapefruit and mint. Soft on the attack, flavorful mid-palate with some richness; the wine develops with a juicy, noble touch, both in texture and aromas. Lovely sappy length with a delicate lemony note. It's very good.

After a couple of swirls, the 2021 de Fieuzal Blanc erupts from the glass with energetic notes of lime leaves, green apples, and fresh pears followed by hints of coriander seed and chalk dust. The light-bodied palate has a quiet intensity of youthful citrus and apple flavors supported by a racy backbone, finishing long and chalky.
