Château Peyrabon 2009

A smoldering tobacco leaf edge runs from start to finish, lending a nice foil to the core of mulled plum and blackberry fruit. Shows a flash of pepper on the finish. Drink now through 2014. 15,000 cases made, 2,500 cases imported.

Soft and drinkable now with plums and berries. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a delicious finish.

The nose feels traditional with red-fruited notes and an herbal spiciness; the palate is fairly soft, medium in weight, with sweet fruit, redcurrant, spices, herbs, and rather good length.

Dark garnet, fairly dense at the core, ruby rim. Red plum bouquet, cherry skins. Rather light-bodied yet quite elegant, with sinewy muscle toward the finish.

Hollow, herbal bouquet with red berries and wood. Slim, dry palate with light fruit, mealy tannins, and sweet aromatics. Short finish. 16/20 2015 - 2023

Dark, intense, purple color. Fruity, fresh and ripe nose, moderately aromatic. Lovely, fleshy entry on the palate. The wine develops with aromatic flavor, body, and fairly fine tannins. Good length, well supported by oak and aromas. Nice structure. 2009 is the greatest vintage of this estate.
