Château Peyrabon 2011

88-90. Barrel sample. This wine shows flavors of smooth new wood and black plum. It's soft and fruity, with sweet, ripe tannins.

Offers a solid graphite frame, with dark currant, fig and bay leaf notes at the core. A lightly tarry edge holds the finish. Drink now through 2015.

Medium to deep ruby red colour. The nose offers some oak, leather, red and black currant with some herbal notes. Medium bodied, still a youthful tannic grip, fresh red currant flavours, sage and mild oak with a rather long finish.

(45% Cabernet Sauvignon, 44% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, 4% Petit Verdot) Spicy, herbal bouquet, red blackberries, tobacco. Light, rather slender palate with little fruit, sweet aromatics, little tannin, light finish. 15/20 2016 - 2022

Without having ample body, the whole is elegant, indulgent, and balanced, with fine tannins.

With a gently fruity style, this is a red that’s already very approachable, light and supple, yet without lacking substance. It opts for an easy-drinking balance and a gentle, lightly oaked vinification. The 2012 (14/20), more structured, is still firm, and its tannins should integrate over the course of a year.

A lovely wine brimming with smoothness and indulgence; extraction is measured, and the whole is deliciously hedonistic. Charming!

Moderately fruity on the nose, with a richer palate than usual, flavorful, and with fine tannins. A harmonious and very pleasant whole.
