The Estate
Domaine Bader-Mimeur took its current name in 1920, following the marriage of Charles Bader and Élise Mimeur, after the acquisition of vines from the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet in 1919. Located in Burgundy, in the heart of the village of Chassagne-Montrachet, the estate is now run by Marie-Pierre Bader, her husband Alain Fossier and their children Nathalie Bernard and Sébastien Fossier. Across a compact eight-hectare vineyard, Bader-Mimeur farms 98% of the château's vines, a rare arrangement in Burgundy, under viticulture certified High Environmental Value level 3.
The Vineyard
This "Signature" cuvée from the estate comes from 2.85 hectares spread across seven plots surrounding the Château de Chassagne-Montrachet, within the Chassagne-Montrachet Village appellation. The clay-limestone soils bring both power and finesse. The vineyard is managed using sustainable practices (lutte raisonnée) without herbicides, relying on partial grass cover and mechanical soil work, for precise viticulture on plots located in the immediate vicinity of the estate.
Vinification and Ageing
This Chassagne-Montrachet Village "Château de Chassagne-Montrachet" 2024 comes from a hand-harvested crop collected in crates of no more than 30 kg. The whole bunches are pressed in a pneumatic press, then the juice is cold-settled before being transferred to barrel by gravity within 24 hours. Alcoholic fermentation takes place in French oak barrels using indigenous yeasts, followed by ten months of ageing on the lees, 20% of it in new oak, with regular lees stirring.
Grape Variety
100% Chardonnay.
