Description
Characteristics and Tasting Notes of the Tableau de Terroir "Les Lauzes" Grenache Noir 2025 from Domaine de la Mordorée
Tasting Notes
Nose
The aromatic bouquet stands out for its lovely generosity, revealing enticing aromas of red and black fruit, with notes of cherry and blackcurrant intertwining in particular.
Palate
On the palate, this wine combines indulgence with elegance. The fleshy, intensely fruity core is perfectly supported by fine tannins, offering a delicate texture and a beautiful precision reflecting its terroir.
Food and Wine Pairing
This grenache pairs wonderfully with Mediterranean cuisine. It will ideally accompany grilled or roasted meats such as lamb, pork, or beef with herbs, as well as characterful poultry like duck. It will also enhance slow-cooked vegetable dishes, such as ratatouille, or pressed cheeses such as Comté, Cantal, or Beaufort.
Serving and Cellaring
To fully enjoy this wine, it is recommended to serve it at a temperature between 15 and 17°C. Light decanting while young will allow the wine to open up and further soften its tannic structure.
Other Characteristics
Part of the limited-edition "Tableaux de Terroir" range, this cuvée illustrates a unique dialogue between pictorial art and the art of winemaking. Each bottle pays tribute to the Rhône terroir and family history, highlighted by artworks created by Ambre Delorme's grandfather.
A Red Vin de France Blending Elegance and Precision
The Estate
Founded in 1986 by Francis and Christophe Delorme, Domaine de la Mordorée quickly established itself as a key reference in the southern Rhône Valley. Located in Tavel, the estate spans a mosaic of 38 parcels spread across 8 communes, exploring prestigious appellations. Today, Madeleine and Ambre Delorme lead the estate, passionately carrying on the family vision. They maintain a strong commitment to biodiversity and environmental respect, reflected in multiple ecological certifications, while producing wines of remarkable precision.
The Vineyard
Classified as Vin de France, this cuvée comes from a specific parcel selection grown on limestone "lauze" soils. This distinctive terroir gives the grapes lovely tension and great finesse. The vineyard is managed with the utmost environmental care, holding organic and biodynamic certifications. The vines benefit from natural grass cover that promotes soil biodiversity and are carefully pruned to control yields and ensure optimal grape health.
Winemaking and Ageing
The process begins with exclusively hand-harvested grapes, followed by rigorous sorting to retain only perfectly ripe and healthy berries. Fermentation takes place naturally through the action of indigenous yeasts, allowing the full authenticity of the limestone terroir to shine through.
Grape Variety
This cuvée is made exclusively from Grenache Noir (100%).
