Domaine du Château de Meursault : Ladoix Village "Chaillot" 2022

The wine shows a bright ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is juicy, tense, and precise. It reveals notes of red cherry (even red cherry juice), raspberry, pomegranate juice, crunchy strawberry, and fresh red currant, combined with spicy and woody notes that intensify after aeration (toasty, cocoa-like, licorice, with a delicate hint of vanilla and cinnamon in the background). There is also a very slight herbal touch of dried blackcurrant leaf and dried mint, as well as a sappy note in the background. The palate is juicy, taut, and chiselled. It delivers flavors of crushed red cherry, raspberry, tangy strawberry, and red currant, with a herbal hint (dried mint), spice (licorice, white pepper), toasty and floral (violet) nuances. The tannins are silky and integrated yet clearly present. Lovely acidity and good length on a mineral, mentholated finish.
