Description
A subtle, expressive, elegant Crozes-Hermitage
The estate
The House of Les Alexandrins is the result of the meeting of three major names from the Rhône Valley: Nicolas Jaboulet, Guillaume Sorrel and Alexandre Caso. A specialist in the northern terroirs, Alexandre Caso selects outstanding parcels to craft cuvées that offer a modern take on the great Rhône classics. Thanks to carefully managed aging and meticulous blending, the House seeks immediate balance while preserving finesse and intensity. For this cuvée, part of the grapes comes from Beaumont-Monteux, bringing lovely richness and great precision, complemented by lots from the lieu-dit Les Pends, near Mercurol, which add freshness and structure.
The vineyard
This Crozes-Hermitage comes mainly from vines located on the alluvial plain of the appellation, on soils made up of rounded pebbles, Rhône alluvium and silty deposits. Further north, the granite hillsides recall those of the neighboring Hermitage, while in the south alluvial terrain is more prevalent. Facing due south, the vines benefit from generous sunshine and the steady influence of the mistral, promoting excellent vine health and optimal grape ripeness.
Grape variety
This Crozes-Hermitage Maison 2022 from Les Alexandrins is made exclusively from Syrah.
