The mineral expression of an emblematic Alsace terroir
The estate
Founded in 1626 by Jean Trimbach, Maison Trimbach is an institution in Alsace. Initially based in Riquewihr, the family settled in Ribeauvillé in 1920. Today, the thirteenth generation runs the estate. Julien Trimbach serves as winemaker, supported by Jean, Anne, Pauline and Frédérique. Awarded the title of Winery of the Year in 2025 by La Revue du Vin de France, the estate continues to uphold a historic expertise in crafting dry white wines.
The vineyard
The estate spans 61 hectares, complemented by grapes sourced from partner winegrowers. Located on the geological fault of Ribeauvillé in Alsace, the vines benefit from a semi-continental climate, sheltered from rainfall by the Vosges mountains. This cuvée comes specifically from vines over sixty years old, rooted in marl and limestone soils. Committed to an environmental approach for over a decade, the estate achieved HVE-3 organic certification in 2023. The vineyard is also notable for its high planting density, which favours grape concentration.
Winemaking and ageing
True to the estate's philosophy, the Riesling "Sélection de Vieilles Vignes" 2023 is crafted with the aim of revealing the purity of its terroir. The winemaking process is designed to produce a dry white wine with a structure suited to long ageing.
Grape variety
100% Riesling.
