Description

Tasting Notes and Serving Tips for AR Lenoble Rosé V.19

Tasting

Appearance

The wine displays a pale ruby hue with powdery highlights, enhanced by a fine, persistent effervescence that forms a delicate stream of bubbles.

Nose

The nose opens on an inviting bouquet of cherry blossoms reminiscent of spring, accompanied by delicate notes of wild strawberry and raspberry. The aromatic palette is open and complex, combining floral freshness with subtle red-fruit aromas.

Palate

The attack is fresh and vibrant, revealing sorbet-like aromas of redcurrant and raspberry. The balance between aromatic richness and elegance carries through to a finish marked by lovely, pleasantly bitter citrus notes, notably grapefruit and mandarin.

Food and Wine Pairings

This rosé Champagne is the perfect match for a thin tart with confit tomatoes, salmon rillettes, or beef carpaccio with capers and aged Parmesan. It also pairs beautifully with duck breast with roasted figs, a blueberry tart with raspberry coulis, or delicate macarons.

Serving and Cellaring

Rosé V.19 is best enjoyed in a white-wine glass at a temperature between 8 and 10°C, allowing optimal expression of its complex aromas.

A precise and elegant rosé Champagne

The estate

Founded in 1920 by Armand-Raphaël Graser, the AR Lenoble House remained family-owned for more than a century before being acquired by the Frère-Gallienne family in 2023. Based in Damery in the Vallée de la Marne, the estate has 18 hectares of vines spread across three outstanding terroirs: Chouilly Grand Cru, Bisseuil Premier Cru and Damery. A pioneer in sustainable viticulture, AR Lenoble obtained Haute Valeur Environnementale level 3 certification as early as 2012. Now led by Guillaume Truchot alongside Antoine Malassagne and cellar master Julien Lardy, the house focuses on quality and the pure expression of its terroirs.

The vineyard

Rosé V.19 comes from two emblematic terroirs of Champagne. Chardonnay is grown on the estate’s 10 hectares in Chouilly, a Grand Cru village in the Côte des Blancs with its signature chalky soils. Pinot Noir comes from the 6 hectares in Bisseuil, a Premier Cru of the Montagne de Reims with clay-limestone soils. The vines average 35 years of age, with some plots over 50 years old. Yields are deliberately limited to 7,000–8,000 kg/ha, well below the regional average, encouraging concentration and grape quality.

This cuvée is based on the 2019 harvest, which makes up 45% of the blend, complemented by 55% reserve wines from the house’s perpetual reserve system. These reserve wines were aged using different methods: part in magnums sealed with natural cork, another part in stainless-steel tanks, and around 20% in oak foudres, adding complexity and aromatic depth.

Vinification and aging

Rosé V.19 is crafted using the traditional method, with partial aging in oak. A portion of the Pinot Noir is vinified as red wine to bring color and delicate tannic structure. The final blend comprises 80% Chardonnay from Chouilly Grand Cru and 20% Pinot Noir from Bisseuil Premier Cru. Total aging lasts around 60 months, allowing the Champagne to develop complexity while preserving its hallmark freshness. The Extra Brut dosage of a maximum of 6 g/l reflects the house philosophy, favoring purity and precision.
