Description

Tasting Notes and Serving Suggestions for Minière F&R’s Voirmissa Blanc de Noirs 2019

Tasting

Appearance

The wine stands out for its brilliance and slightly golden highlights with coppery hues. The fine, persistent effervescence reflects the elegance of this champagne.

Nose

Expressive and intense, the bouquet reveals aromas of ripe red berries, notably cherry and raspberry. Delicately toasty notes are complemented by a mineral backbone that gives structure to the whole.

Palate

The palate charms with its elegance and depth. Flavors of small red berries mingle with a subtle spicy dimension. The well-supported structure is balanced by lovely freshness, leading to a pure, mineral finish.

Food and Wine Pairings

This champagne pairs perfectly with shellfish, whether oysters, crab, or lobster. It also accompanies delicate fish and seafood with finesse.

Serving and Cellaring

Voirmissa Blanc de Noirs 2019 is best enjoyed at a temperature between 8 and 10°C. Its recent disgorgement in June 2025 gives it optimal freshness for immediate drinking.

A single-parcel champagne from Hermonville with an assertive character

The estate

Founded in 1919 by Alfred Minière, the Minière F&R House is now led by Frédéric and Rodolphe Minière, representing the fourth generation. Based in Hermonville, at the gateway to the Montagne de Reims, the estate farms around 8 hectares of vines under organic agriculture. Trained alongside Anselme Selosse, Frédéric introduced barrel aging and organic viticulture. Minière F&R Champagne remains the only grower-producer in Hermonville, cultivating a distinctive, non-chalky terroir.

The vineyard

This cuvée comes from a Champagne terroir located in Hermonville, in the lieu-dit Les Voirmissa. This 45.07-are parcel, planted in 1973, sits on silty-clay soils that give the wine its characteristic structure and minerality. The venerable age of the vines—over fifty years—contributes to the concentration and aromatic complexity of this Champagne cuvée.

The vintage

The 2019 vintage was bottled in June 2020, following careful vinification in old oak barrels. The cuvée then benefited from five years of aging on laths, allowing its aromatic complexity and fine bead to develop. An additional year after disgorgement completed its evolution before release.

Vinification and aging

Voirmissa Blanc de Noirs 2019 is vinified in five- to eight-year-old oak barrels, with indigenous yeasts. Malolactic fermentation occurs naturally according to the year’s characteristics. The wine undergoes eight months of aging in barrel with bâtonnage, a technique that enriches texture and complexity. After bottling in June 2020 in a special bottle, the champagne rests for five years on laths before disgorgement in June 2025.
