Decanter

An ethereal wine from Beau-Séjour Bécot this year. Fragrant blackcurrants and black cherries. High energy from the get go, this has such verve and focus from the start with a zing in the mouth; juicy, succulent, gorgeous and friendly. Generous in terms of sweet, juicy acidity, mouthwatering but soft and creamy so you get a wide mouthfeel. Tannins perfectly placed, nicely supportive but not intrusive. Layers of fresh red fruits, a little touch of salinity on the finish, crunchy cranberries with a soft lick of salt wet stones. I love the precision – the real tension but not at all too tart or austere. There’s such a soft element that makes this really approachable. Very purity, pristine and clear – a real sensation of the limestone. 3.40pH. A yield of 32hlha. Ageing 37% oak casks.

Beau-Sejour Becot has been on fire lately, and the 2025 shows why. Concentrated, lusciously textured, creamy, and fresh, the wine delivers an intensity of fruit and a surreal sense of purity that hits all your pleasure buttons. The finish is all about its nonstop, seamless layers of velvety fruit that coat your palate as they linger for over 60 seconds. The wine is aged in 50% new French oak barrels, along with foudres and amphora. The wine blends 78% Merlot with 22% Cabernet Franc. 13% ABV, 3.5 pH. The harvest took place September 25 - October 4. Drink from 2030-2060.

Clear depth, sinew and crunchy cranberry, blueberry and red cherry fruit, with tension, minerality, salinity, a ton of juice and mouthwatering freshness on the finish, sea spray, saffron and tobacco leaf, curls of woodsmoke and iris flowers as it opens. Great stuff, with precision and possibility, and the DNA of the location. 16ha in production out of 22ha potential, cold soak for 15C at 6 days, 32 hl/ha. 3.4 pH. 55% new oak. Harvest September 5 to 18. Thomas Duclos consultant.

Yves Beck

A great wine rarely stands out for sheer intensity, but far more for its ability to reveal depth and detail from the very first moment. Beau-Séjour Bécot embodies this perfectly. The bouquet unfolds a wealth of nuances, with notes of cocoa beans (always part of this wine’s DNA), alongside hints of dark berries and iris. On the palate, the wine asserts itself with conviction. It shows breadth—indeed, a touch of generosity—but not to overwhelm the entire mouth; rather, to frame the saline edge and create harmony. As a result, it feels toned, incisive and vibrant, yet also caressing. That is true artistry. To focus elements of character so precisely and bring them together in harmony can only come from listening—to the terroir, the vine, instinct and, incidentally (perhaps even obviously), guidance. This BSB is the outcome of an exemplary journey—unsettling, challenging—requiring fundamental, emotional, deep-rooted soul-searching, to return to where wine is born: in the vineyard. Its identity was not altered, but the paths leading to it were. That is why various processes and working methods were revisited—not to revolutionize anything, but to return to the fundamentals while taking today’s environment into account. A wine that superbly combines charm, energy and temperament. Everyone can be proud.

Dark, intense color with purple highlights. Highly aromatic nose, refined, fruity, pure and subtle, with a hint of strawberry. Meticulous on the attack, then very, very aromatic on the mid-palate with a rich texture; the wine unfolds as complex, deep, noble, precise and very flavorful. Beautiful, enveloping length. Blend: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 13.5% - pH: 3.4. Yield: 32 hl/ha.

Vinum

Radiant bouquet, clear and pure: redcurrant, rosehip, pomegranate, and a chalky minerality. The attack is gentle, almost shy, then it builds tremendous drive and intensity while remaining highly elegant. The tannins are like velvet and silk—always present, never taking center stage. Beautifully balanced, long-lasting, vibrant, with a lofty, majestic length. A three-part harmony of delicate fruit, structural power, and chalky freshness.
