"This is wine from a perfectionist and one of the most conscientious, small estate owners in Bordeaux, and Beyney’s 2013 reflects his meticulousness. Its opaque purple color is followed by a glorious nose of strawberry and black cherry liqueur intermixed with licorice, lead pencil shavings and vanilla. It has soft tannins and medium to full body, which is atypical for this vintage, and well-integrated acidity, give this wine a stunning intensity and overall purity. This is a beauty, and has to be tasted to be believed. This is one of the superstars of a vintage where there are not many."
