Château de Beaucastel : Coudoulet de Beaucastel 2022

Dark in colour. Soft, juicy, velvety tannins. An approachable and well-balanced vintage of Coudoulet that should age well thanks to its tannic finesse, acidity and freshness. Though it is quite a tannic vintage, so give it some time.

Cask sample. Reduced and introverted nose. The palate is sleek and rounded, with fine-grained tannins, blue fruit, violet notes and a floral character. Tight and tense and well balanced – meaty as well on the long finish. (AC)

Shaped gently by soft tannins, this refined red contains solid substance and caps off with persistence on the classic finish. Give it another two years to start revealing its full potential.

Spicy herbs, ground pepper, leather, and spicy red and black fruits define the 2022 Côtes Du Rhône Coudoulet De Beaucastel, a medium-bodied, elegant, complex red that should age nicely for 8–10 years, if not longer. I certainly see no need to delay gratification, though.

Beautiful ripeness expressed in red and black fruit. The profile is juicy, with lovely freshness, and spicy notes adding complexity. The palate is harmonious, showing a certain power, built on well-integrated tannins. The whole is delicious.
