Smoky and floral notes, iris, rose petals, sour cherries. Accessible, precise fruit, top acidity, fine-grained tannins, lots of balance, very good length. It will be enjoyable at every stage of its life.

The 2021 de Pez offers up aromas of sweet blackberries, cherries, pencil shavings and white flowers, followed by a medium-bodied, ample and fleshy palate that’s supple, suave and seamless. This attractively balanced, charming wine will drink well on release.

Modest in scale, but with good juicy energy to the damson plum and bitter cherry notes. The slightly tangy finish reveals tobacco leaf and savory flecks. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2025 through 2031.

Juicy and lively, bright and vibrant, with a crisp texture to the red berry fruit, creamy edges, and a hint of graphite and wet stone underneath. It loses some oomph and impact towards the finish, tapering out, but the initial expression was nice and it ends on a cool note. It might need more time, or it might simply be best enjoyed in its youth for a light, delicate, yet fruit-forward style.

62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc. From the Roederer stable. Cask sample. Rather sumptuous nose. Fleshy, almost sweet – certainly many steps taken to ensure this is not too austere. Good drive and excellent delivery of ripe fruit. Underneath there is the stoniness of the appellation and I assume that Montrose, for example, is more concentrated and will live longer but this is a pretty successful wine. Fresh, long finish. The 2021 Château de Pez has a very pure bouquet with blackberry, briar and light loamy aromas. This has gained delineation since I tasted it from barrel. The palate is medium-bodied and fresh, with fine-grained tannins and a Pauillac-like seam of graphite from start to finish, leading to a precise close that is very pleasing. This shows melioration in recent months and it will give a couple of decades’ drinking pleasure.

Espresso, flowers, cherries, smoky red plums and spice in the perfume focus your attention on the wine. On the palate, the wine is round, supple, fresh and creamy, with loads of sweet, ripe, red fruits with a savory edge, along with a touch of chocolate that appears at the end of the finish. The wine blends 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, 47% Merlot and 4% Petit Verdot. Drink from 2025–2038.

Vivid dark ruby, purple tinge at the rim. Fine blackberry note, a touch of nougat and cloves, subtle hints of precious wood. Juicy, elegant, red cherries, fine, well-integrated tannins, mineral-citric finish, salty; a fine food companion.

The 2021 Château De Pez is based on 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc aged 15 months in 50% new French oak. It's a medium-bodied, vibrant, elegant effort that has pretty red plum, tobacco, and spicy, floral notes in an utterly delicious, seamless, drink-me-now style. It should nevertheless evolve for 10-15 years if well stored.

Bright and vivid raspberry and red cherry fruit character, good lift through the finish, coupled with the savoury sage and tomato leaf edging that is typical of the vintage. Skilfully delivered, with a grilled oak finish, plenty of polish, and a great option for early to medium drinking over next five to 10 years. Nicolas Glumineau director.

A blend of 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc, the 2021 de Pez is deep garnet-purple in color. It springs from the glass with vivacious notes of kirsch, raspberry coulis, and red roses, plus hints of cardamom and underbrush. The light- to medium-bodied palate is tight-knit and tense, with firm, grainy tannins framing the crunchy red fruit flavors, finishing long and savory.

We must commend the great success of the recent vintages, displaying a very clean, well-defined style that we appreciate. 2021 is a case in point: the wine shows the vintage’s digestible, fresh character, yet it doesn’t lack depth or presence on the palate, with very precise fruit.

A confident nose of blue fruits and eucalyptus leads to a supple, harmonious palate, with a lovely refreshing, juicy acidity and a mocha finish.

The bouquet of Pez reveals itself with relevance and intensity. It shows a fine balance between freshness and fruit. The attack, slightly saline then juicy, announces a wine of temperament and precision. Its liveliness is a crucial element as it offers potential, together with tannins that carry the whole and provide a steady progression as well as a persistent finish. A wine of character that deserves a bit of development.

Beautiful dark, vibrant color. Moderately intense nose with ripe, spicy fruit. A little restrained on the attack, then quickly juicy; the wine becomes silky and very fruity, with a touch of brightness on the finish and no tannic edges. Blend: 62.5% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot, 1.5% Cabernet Franc. Alcohol: 12.5% – pH: 3.65. IPT: 70. Made without chaptalization.

An intense nose of blackcurrant and burnt wood contrasts with a silky, gentle palate. The tannic structure is fine, tuned, precise: you can sense a no-compromise harvest and very attentive winemaking. The finish leaves a generous yet clean and energetic impression. One to watch.

The aromas of toast, black spice and juicy blackberries are sustained by this structured wine. Its texture shows concentration and dark tannins. The wine's density and concentration are impressive. Drink from 2028.
