Description
A Pomerol wine of seductive balance and fruity expression
The estate
Founded in 1687 under the name Domaine de Fazilleau and later renamed Château L'Évangile in the following century, this prestigious Bordeaux estate flourishes on the Pomerol plateau. Acquired by Domaines Barons de Rothschild Lafite in 1990 and now led by Saskia de Rothschild, it owes its distinctiveness to its exceptional terroir of sandy-clay soils enriched with sandstone and iron crust, a rare feature in the appellation that makes it possible to craft exceptional wines.
The vineyard
The vineyard of Château L'Évangile stretches over sandy-clay soils with gravel and a subsoil rich in iron crust, giving this Pomerol terroir a unique identity. Ideally located between the prestigious Pétrus and Cheval Blanc estates, the property enjoys an exceptional microclimate that favours optimal grape ripening.
Blend
This Château L'Évangile 2025 is a blend of 86% Merlot, 13% Cabernet Franc and 1% Cabernet Sauvignon.
