Vinum

Expressive, fresh, delicately spicy, with cassis, blackberry and floral notes; on the palate, slightly creamy on the attack, fine-boned yet well structured, the crisp red fruit is supported by pronounced yet fine tannins, and a juicy acidity adds to the structure; long, spicy, red-fruited finish. An excellent Poujeaux of classic style.

Decanter

Blackcurrant leaf, some dried herbs, dark chocolate and bitter orange touches. Crisp with bright red berries—gently juicy with some chalky, creamy aspects on the mid-palate. There’s tension here with liquorice and salty stones, but it actually softens quite quickly, ending with a mineral and softly bitter finish. Cool and long. Classic and will be very enjoyable. A yield of 33 hl/ha. pH 3.85. Less Merlot than usual. Highest percentage of Petit Verdot in the blend. Harvest from 27 September to 9 October.

50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Merlot and 15% Petit Verdot. Cask sample. Berry fruit with a minty freshness. Attractive, aromatic fruit on the palate. Fresh, juicy and harmonious. Some potential. (JL)

Le Figaro Vin

An inviting, classic nose with notes of vanilla, blond tobacco, and leaves. The palate has a certain charm, despite oak that is still very present at this stage.

Vertdevin

The nose is fruity, fresh, sappy, and gracefully elongated with finesse. It reveals notes of violet, peony, and pulpy blackberry, joined by touches of small red berries, as well as fine hints of ripe cranberry, saffron, a floral edge, and delicate hints of nutmeg. The palate is beautifully guided, with fruit, smoothness, a mineral and tangy backbone, a touch of tension, and precision. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry and violet, and more subtly lilac, combined with touches of fleshy small red berries, as well as fine, almost roasted-juicy red fruit nuances, tonka bean, and gentle sweet spices. Good length. The tannins are finely velvety and racy. Freshness, a chocolaty note, and an airy feel. Good persistence. A delicate suppleness with a lovely floral/finely sappy character on the nose and palate.
