Decanter

Nuanced nose, smells polished and poised. This is spicy and high-toned, full of sweet cinnamon and cedar. Feels a little astringent right now even though there's a good core of bright cherry and strawberry fruit. I do like the juiciness and this has a soft sweetness, but the wood element is still quite pronounced. Firm acidity and some wet stone, too. Seems to have a lot of the elements and wood does feel quite well handled, though there is an oaky, warming sensation on the finish. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc.

James Suckling

Mulberries, cherries, wet stones, mushrooms and undergrowth on the nose. Medium-bodied with chewy tannins. Rich, structured and savory with a firm finish. 80% merlot and 20% cabernet franc. Drink after 2024.

Neal Martin

The 2019 Siaurac has a tightly wound bouquet that, with aeration, reveals attractive brambly red fruit, scorched earth and light truffle aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine tannins, graphite-tinged red fruit and a harmonious if slightly short finish. Still, this should offer a decade of drinking pleasure.

Leve Jeff

Silky, lush and soft, with juicy fruits, energy, freshness and an earthy, dark-chocolate and plummy presence on the palate, this is going to be just great with a few years in the cellar. 90-92 pts

The Wine Independent

Lisa Perrotti-Brown

The 2019 Siaurac is deep garnet-purple colored. The nose is a little subdued with vague notes of stewed plums and boysenberry preserves plus hints of damp earth, tree bark, and truffles. The medium-bodied palate delivers earth-laced dried berry flavors with chewy tannins and a peppery finish.

La RVF

Broadly open on ripe red fruit, lightly spiced with a hint of oak, the very Merlot-leaning nose is inviting while retaining great energy. The fleshy, juicy texture speaks to a fine, gentle extraction that makes the wine highly appealing. However, the firmness and pedigree of the tannins suggest a promising evolution. The spicy touch on the finish, with a southern accent, gives the wine a distinctive character.

Le Figaro Vin

A fairly racy, incisive nose with notes of black berries, ripe sweet fruit, and elegant flowers. Taut and focused on the palate, fleshy, with tannins that are both sophisticated and assertive.
