This has a brambly frame, along with a hefty dose of tobacco infused into the core of steeped plum and blackberry fruit flavors. Reveals a loamy hint on the finish while keeping good energy throughout. Drink now through 2022. 2,800 cases made, 500 cases imported.

Crushed violet and blueberry aromas with a chalky edge. Smells restrained. The palate has a wealth of fresh flavors. So supple and even. Great depth and detail here. Try from 2022.

The 2015 Villemaurine is one of the more overt, flamboyant wines of the vintage. Super-ripe black cherry, chocolate, spice, new leather and licorice build as this racy Saint-Émilion shows off its alluring personality. There is a plenty to like. I would prefer to drink the 2015 over the next decade or so. The blend is 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc. Tasted two times.

Ready to go, this opulent, lush, wine is all about its rich core of salty, chocolate-coated black cherries, smoke, and plums with hints of spice, and licorice in the endnote. No decanting is needed here, just pop, pour, and enjoy. Drink from 2023-2032.

Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple reflections, subtle brightening on the rim, floral notes with intense berry confit, notes of heart cherries and tobacco. Juicy, round and harmonious, soft notes of plum, vivid tannins, mineral touch, good freshness, has good ageing potential.

The palate is elegant, showing a lovely fruity sweetness in the extract. Harmonious, aromatic finish with very fine-grained notes. There’s still one more point to be gained here.

Medium to deep garnet colored, the 2015 Villemaurine slowly unfurls to reveal notions of kirsch, black raspberries, and stewed black plums, plus hints of underbrush, wild sage, and pencil lead. The full-bodied palate is concentrated and chock full of black fruit preserves, supported by chewy tannins and just enough freshness, finishing firm and savory.

This wine from a vineyard neighboring Trottevieille (and rooted in the same limestone terroir) develops a delicate energy, leaving on the palate a subtle, lingering impression of incredible pedigree. Highly recommended.

The 2015 charms with soft, open-knit fruit, of medium density for the vintage, yet unfurls its remarkable structural finesse through to a very lovely finish.

Very dark color. Beautiful blackberry nose. The wine is dense and tightly knit, with a superb mid-palate and great length; there’s still a slight hollow, but the finish is superb. Villemaurine reconnects with its prestigious past. 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc.

Medium garnet-red with a lighter rim. An open, inviting bouquet. Noteworthy notes of orange zest, as well as prune and chocolate. Like many 2015s, Villemaurine surprises with its freshness on the palate. It has silky, well-integrated tannins that match the structure. The wine is pleasant, well-balanced and can already be enjoyed.

The nose is fruity, generous and fairly intense, revealing notes of blackberry jam, strawberry and blackcurrant, alongside subtle floral touches and a hint of sweet spices. The palate is fruity, mineral and fresh, offering tension along with a lovely silky, slightly creamy texture. On the palate, the wine expresses flavours of blackberry cream, plum and delicate blueberry notes, complemented by a subtle hint of Zan, minerality, chocolate and fine oak. The tannins are fine and elegant. Good length and persistence with delicate notes of dark chocolate and blackberry.
