Vinum

Subtle nose, you search and you find, deep, finely spicy, clear and pure in its fruit, violet, iris, stony undertones; on the palate, silky-smooth, builds plenty of drive, remains elegant, the fruit is crisp, kept in check by masses of tannins, a fresh acidity gives momentum, cool, focused, with breed and polish; excellent balance of elements, long red-fruited finish. A grace.

Decanter

Amazing fragrance, so expressive but so nuanced, really floral and pristine. Pure and focused, some softly sweet drops of raspberry and strawberry with chalky tannins - super fine and sinewy muscles. You can really feel the limestone here - the mineral, salty stone, graphite bite. Delicacy as usual, nothing pushed here, more graceful and utterly charming. It has depth and layers; you don't feel there’s wateriness or a weak mid-palate, just grace and elegance. Bitter orange, grapefruit, cranberry and cherry fruit. A yield of 30 hl/ha. A densimetric system was used to sort the berries. pH 3.45. Harvest from 25 September to 11 October.

Black cherries, flowers, plums, and sea salt enhance the aromatic profile. On the palate, the wine is elegant, refined, energetic, and bright. There is a noticeable tension, accompanied by fresh red fruits influenced by limestone soils, providing a strong sense of marine-influenced berries in the mid-palate and finish. The wine blends 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 6% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% ABV, 3.43 pH. The harvest took place September 25 - October 11. Drink from 2029-2048. 93-95 pts

Slow to unfurl, because this is a strong limestone identity which needs time to soften in the glass, but there are stunning gunsmoke, elderflower and white blossom aromatics, along with pumice stone and chalk tannins. Extremely clear limestone fingerprint, crunchy fruits, quite a physical reaction to the wine, good precision and clarity, 30hl/ha yield. Harvest 25 September to 11 October, 40% new oak. 3.43pH. A more reserved Clos Fourtet compared to the last few vintages, needs time, potential upscore in bottle.

Dark, intense, beautiful colour with garnet highlights. A highly aromatic nose, refined, pure, fruity and subtle. Precise on the attack, with flavour through the mid-palate and a slender, savoury body; the wine melts across the palate, with a touch of liveliness on the finish. But it really is impossible to spit. To be followed after ageing. Blend: 84% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, 6% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alcohol: 13% (no chaptalisation) – pH: 3.43. Yield: 30 hl/ha. 75% of the harvest. Production: 50,000 bottles.
