Tasting
Colour
Montagne 2024 displays an intense, concentrated red colour, reflecting its blend dominated by Grenache Noir and its careful ageing.
Nose
The nose reveals ripe fruit intertwined with notes of spice and garrigue, as if the Mediterranean scrubland had found its place in the glass beneath the low winter light.
Palate
On the palate, depth unfolds with a solid structure, carried by tannins that are present yet quietly refined. Each sip seems to tell of the slow passing of the seasons and of winter on the slopes of the estate.
Food and Wine Pairing
Montagne 2024 pairs ideally with roast lamb, red meats with delicate sauces and seasonal game, in resolutely wintry pairings that echo the richness and structure of the wine.
Serving and Cellaring
The estate recommends serving Montagne 2024 at around 16-18°C, after a light decanting, to fully reveal its aromas.
A Structured, Spicy High-Altitude Red Collioure by Domaine de la Rectorie
The Estate
Domaine de la Rectorie is a family estate founded in 1984 by brothers Marc and Thierry Parcé in Banyuls-sur-Mer, in Roussillon. Set on schist terraces overlooking the Mediterranean, it stands as a benchmark for the Banyuls and Collioure appellations. Now run by Thierry and his son Jean-Emmanuel Parcé, the estate pursues a demanding approach to viticulture, focused on biodynamics and the enhancement of its micro-terroirs.
The Vineyard
Montagne 2024 comes from old vines planted at altitude, on schist soils typical of the Collioure appellation. This setting helps preserve a certain freshness in a hot Mediterranean climate, while encouraging deep rooting that favours grape concentration.
Vinification and Ageing
The grapes for Montagne 2024 are harvested by hand, then vinified with care, in keeping with the estate's traditional methods, in order to preserve the freshness and finesse of the tannins.
Grape Varieties
Montagne 2024 is a blend dominated by Grenache Noir, complemented by Carignan, Counoise and Mourvèdre.
