Tasting notes
Appearance
The wine reveals a pale yellow hue adorned with luminous highlights.
Nose
The nose unveils a complex bouquet in which aromas of white flowers, fresh citrus and white-fleshed fruits intertwine. With aeration, subtle notes of honey, spices and a delicate mineral hint of gun flint emerge.
Palate
Broad and unctuous, the palate seduces with its dry richness, perfectly balanced by a striking acidity. The tasting unfolds on a long, mouth-watering finish, marked by deep minerality and noble bitter notes.
Food and wine pairings
This white wine from France pairs wonderfully with refined seafood such as roasted lobster, scallops or fine fish. It also brilliantly accompanies delicate poultry served in a creamy sauce, as well as aged goat cheeses.

The estate
Founded in 1973 by Hubert Lamy, the Domaine Hubert Lamy has established itself as an essential signature in Burgundy. Initially comprising eight hectares, the vineyard today extends over 18.5 hectares across the finest terroirs of the Côte de Beaune. Currently led by Olivier and Karine Lamy, the estate stands out for its extremely precise viticultural approach, inspired by biodynamics. Renowned for its very high-density plantings, the family estate gives rise to white wines of great purity, faithfully expressing the complexity and tension of their original climats.
The vineyard
Located in the north of the Chassagne-Montrachet appellation, near Puligny-Montrachet, the "Les Macherelles" climat rests on stony clay-limestone soils, sometimes tinged with red by the presence of iron oxides. This singular terroir gives the grapes a beautiful breadth coupled with a finely spiced minerality. Faithful to its environmental philosophy, the estate practises organic viticulture that respects the soils, excluding chemical herbicides and encouraging biodiversity to allow the terroir to express itself as naturally as possible.
Winemaking and aging
The making of Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru "Les Macherelles" 2024 relies on gentle methods aimed at preserving the tension and purity of the fruit. The berries undergo a long pressing that allows for delicate extraction of the juice. Aging then takes place in large wooden vessels, primarily 600-litre demi-muids, with very moderate use of new barrels so as not to mask the mineral identity of the cru.
