Domaine Laroche : Chablis 1er cru "Les Vaillons Vieilles Vignes" 2022

Very precise Vaillons with plenty of ripe stone fruit on the palate, balanced by a fine line of zesty lime acidity. Just a hint of lees ageing/touch of oak here? All in all, a very classy, refined and long-living example of this premier cru.

The 2022 Chablis Les Vaillons Vieilles Vignes 1er Cru, from 65-year-old vines, has a perfumed bouquet with red apple, yellow plum and melted candle wax scents, a little oilier than its peers but quite intriguing. The palate is well balanced with crisp acidity, fine concentration and ample focus, that citric thread of acidity upholding tension. Very fine. Tasted blind at the BIVB tasting in Chablis.
