Fonseca : Vintage Port 2003

Lots of intensity on the nose of blackberries, dried fruits, bark, mushroom and crushed stone. Full-bodied, medium-sweet with chewy, velvety tannins. Just a baby now with so much to go, but approachable now at almost 20 years of age. Drinkable, but better in five or six years.

Opaque, reflective color. Slightly sweet, floral nose. More feminine than the Taylor Vintage Port 2003, yet with noticeable acidity and tannins. Intense, full palate. Long, spicy finish.

(Fr. 149.-) Spicy, finely peppery, concentrated bouquet, dried fruits, dark chocolate, mocha cream, black tea, cereals. Velvety, concentrated, multi-layered, powerful palate with pronounced, creamy sweetness, generous structure, diverse, intense aromatics, very long, dense finish with plenty of lingering flavours. 19/20 drink - 2045
