Description
A Sancerre red from old-vine Pinot Noir, crafted by Les Vins d'Emmanuelle
The estate
Les Vins d'Emmanuelle is a wine selection house based in Sancerre, in the Central Loire Valley. Its founder and director, Emmanuelle Mellot, worked for many years at the family estate Alphonse Mellot before launching her own venture. There, she offers "made-to-measure wines", sourced from parcel selections and aged according to the personality of each cuvée. The range explores several appellations of the Central Loire (Sancerre, Pouilly-Fumé, Menetou-Salon, Reuilly, Quincy), complemented by a sparkling Vouvray. Ma Colline is available as both a white and a red Sancerre.
The vineyard
The Ma Colline cuvée comes from old vines planted on the "terres blanches" of Sancerre. These Kimmeridgian marl soils combine marl and marly limestone, often rich in fossils. This type of soil is also found in Chablis. This limestone terroir is generally associated with structured, taut wines with remarkably fine tannins.
Grape variety
Ma Colline 2025 from Les Vins d'Emmanuelle is 100% Pinot Noir.
