The elegance and historic expertise of Maison Louis Latour in Burgundy
The estate
Officially founded in 1797, Maison Louis Latour is an iconic institution of the region, located in Aloxe-Corton. This independent family estate oversees an exceptional vineyard. Today, the eleventh generation leads the company, while the twelfth is being prepared. The uniqueness of this historic house lies notably in its own in-house cooperage, ensuring perfect mastery of the ageing of its wines while applying the principles of sustainable farming.
The vineyard
The Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru "Les Chatelots" comes from a specific plot. The vines thrive on soils with a perfect balance of clay and limestone. The harvest is carried out exclusively by hand, allowing for a rigorous selection of the finest bunches.
Winemaking and aging
Production relies on traditional methods. Fermentation takes place in open vats, facilitating temperature control and optimal extraction. The wine is then aged in French oak barrels, crafted by the house's own cooperage, adding subtle complexity while preserving the brightness of the fruit.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir (100%).
