Louis Latour : Pommard 1er cru "Epenots" 2016

The Épenots, a cuvée composed of both domaine and purchased grapes, is showing very well this year. Notes of wild red and black fruits, spice and rich soil tones introduce an elegant, nicely concentrated wine with a fine chassis of tannins and a good juicy core of fruit.

Another very impressive 2016 that lives up to the reputation of this famous producer. The firm structure that’s typical for the appellation is married with great black cherries. There is also enormous energy driving the very long finish. Drink now or hold.

Simple red fruits, light palate, underdeveloped intensity. Delicate and fragrant but not as punchy as a premier cru should be. (RH)
