The estate

Located in Vosne-Romanée, in the heart of Burgundy, Méo-Camuzet is an essential benchmark. While the family history dates back to the 17th century and the current name appeared in 1981, the négociant house Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeurs was officially founded in 2003. Now led by Jean-Nicolas Méo, the estate farms approximately 18 hectares of vines. Renowned for its environmentally respectful approach and its gentle vinification methods inherited from Henri Jayer, the house produces wines that combine purity of fruit, precision and elegance from the finest terroirs of the region.

The vineyard

The Les Perrières climat lies in the southern part of the Nuits-Saint-Georges appellation. Fairly high up on the slope, this terroir is distinguished by its soils of medium depth and very stony composition, which promote excellent drainage and early ripening of the grapes. The old vines, planted in the 1950s, produce small berries often affected by millerandage, resulting in a beautiful natural concentration.

The vintage

2022 stands out as a warm, early vintage. Despite episodes of drought and high summer temperatures, rigorous vineyard management and carefully adapted harvest dates made it possible to preserve a fine balance and great freshness in the berries.

Vinification and ageing

The house philosophy favours gentleness and precision. After complete destemming, a cold pre-fermentation maceration is carried out to extract colour and aromas with delicacy. The Nuits-Saint-Georges 1er Cru "Les Perrières" Méo-Camuzet Frère & Soeurs 2022 is aged in oak barrels, notably from the Tronçais forest. The concentrated character of this wine allows it to absorb a proportion of new oak perfectly, while preserving its characteristic finesse.
