Glenburgie, a historic Speyside distillery

Founded in 1810 under the name Kinflat before being officially established in 1829, Glenburgie is among the oldest Scotch whisky distilleries still in operation today. Located near Forres in Speyside, it has belonged to Pernod Ricard via Chivas Brothers since 2005. It stands out for its pioneering history: Margaret Nicol was the first female distillery manager in Scotland (1936-1959). Between 1957 and 1981, Glenburgie used Lomond stills to produce the Glencraig single malt. Its output mainly feeds into the Teacher's and Ballantine's blends, making this Scotch whisky an essential component of these prestigious blends.
