A Châteauneuf-du-Pape Defined by the Old-Vine Signature of Tardieu-Laurent
The estate
Founded in 1996 in Lourmarin, in the Luberon, the House of Tardieu-Laurent has established itself as a leading négociant-éleveur in the Rhône Valley. With no vineyards of its own, it works with nearly one hundred partner growers who own old-vine parcels. Now run by Michel Tardieu and his son Bastien, the house upholds a winemaking philosophy inspired by Burgundian methods, combining long ageing in barrels and foudres with a constant pursuit of precision and finesse.
The vineyard
The Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" cuvée comes from emblematic parcels in the Southern Rhône. These terroirs are characterised by soils of rolled pebbles over sandy clays, ideal for old vines to thrive, which give the wine concentration and depth.
Winemaking and ageing
The ageing of the Châteauneuf-du-Pape "Vieilles Vignes" 2025 follows the Burgundian philosophy dear to the Tardieu-Laurent house, favouring long ageing in barrels and foudres to reveal the full complexity of the appellation's old vines.
Grape varieties
Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Syrah.
