The pure, mineral expression of a vin doux naturel from the Rhône Valley
The estate
A renowned consulting oenologist since 1996, Xavier Vignon founded his own négociant house, Xavier Vins, in 2002. Located at Château Husson in Courthézon, in the heart of the Rhône Valley, the estate stands out for its approach combining scientific rigor with creative freedom. Now at the head of the estate, Xavier Vignon crafts cuvées that faithfully express the minerality and complexity of Rhône terroirs. His pioneering spirit leads him to push the boundaries of winemaking traditions while preserving the authenticity of each appellation.
The vineyard
The terroir of this Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise thrives at the foot of the majestic Dentelles de Montmirail, on plots located between 100 and 500 meters in altitude. This fragmented vineyard benefits from rich biodiversity and a Mediterranean climate offering multiple microclimates. For this cuvée, the grapes come from a rigorous selection of soils composed of 80% clay-limestone and 20% sand, giving the wine its distinctive minerality.
Winemaking and aging
The grapes for this Muscat de Beaumes-de-Venise 2024 are harvested by hand, in successive passes to select bunches at optimal ripeness. Vinification takes place at low temperatures to preserve the delicacy of the aromas. Fermentation is then stopped by mutage, a technique involving the addition of neutral alcohol to retain natural sweetness while maintaining fresh acidity. Finally, a large portion of the wine is aged in glass vessels known as Wine Globes, ensuring pure fruit expression without any oak or oxidative influence.
Grape variety
This wine is made exclusively from Muscat Blanc (100%).
