Description

Characteristics and tasting tips for the Moscato d'Asti 2025 by Antinori - Prunotto

Tasting notes

Appearance
This wine reveals an intense straw-yellow colour, enhanced by delicate golden highlights.

Nose
The aromatic bouquet fully expresses the traditional markers of the grape variety, opening with beautiful notes of hawthorn flowers and sage, complemented by hints of acacia and citrus fruits.

Palate
Both fresh and pleasant, the attack is vigorous while retaining great finesse. The whole is crowned by a finish perfectly balanced between natural sweetness and liveliness.

Food and wine pairings
This sweet white wine pairs wonderfully with light appetisers, sushi or spicy Asian cuisine. It will also pleasantly surprise alongside oysters, blue-veined cheeses, or desserts such as pastries, fruit cakes or ricotta cannoli.

Serving and cellaring
For an optimal tasting of this Moscato d'Asti 2025, it is recommended to serve it well chilled, at a temperature between 8 and 10°C. While it can be cellared until around 2030, it will reveal the full brilliance of its fruity aromas in its youth.

The aromatic elegance of a great Moscato d'Asti from Piedmont

The estate
Founded in 1904 as a cooperative, the Prunotto brand is a true institution located in Alba, in the heart of Piedmont. After being run by Alfredo Prunotto and then the Colla family, the property is now owned by the renowned Marchesi Antinori family, who took full control of it in 1994. With a vineyard spanning more than 70 hectares, this historic estate brilliantly combines respect for regional traditions with technical innovation to produce wines of exceptional quality, true to their terroir.

The vineyard
The vines used to produce this Moscato d'Asti flourish on the picturesque hills of the Langhe. This exceptional terroir, recognised by UNESCO, benefits from ideal microclimatic conditions for the cultivation of aromatic grape varieties, allowing the grapes to develop optimal concentration while preserving their natural freshness.

The vintage
The year 2025 began with a mild winter punctuated by rainfall, which helped replenish the soil's water reserves. Bud break took place steadily under mild temperatures. Late spring and summer proved particularly rainy, requiring rigorous vineyard management. Green harvesting was essential to ensure the freshness and a good sugar concentration in the berries.

Vinification and ageing
The grapes for this Moscato d'Asti 2025 were hand-harvested between 4 and 16 September. After gentle crushing, the must macerated briefly in the press to extract maximum aromas. The free-run juice was then transferred into stainless steel tanks for alcoholic fermentation. This was deliberately stopped at 5% alcohol through abrupt cooling. The wine was finally clarified and filtered before bottling.

Grape variety
This Italian wine is made exclusively from 100% moscato bianco.
