Bouchard Père & Fils : Beaune 1er cru "Clos de La Mousse" Domaine Monopole 2002

The aromas are reduced, though there's a sweetness and concentration to the cherry, coffee and mineral flavors. Packed and firm, this has promise, but requires patience. Best from 2006 through 2015. 1,450 cases made.

Cask sample. Rich, round, and sweet on the nose. Then quite notable, fine tannins. Leave this alone! Tastes ‘cool’. (JR)

Medium red. Cool aromas of red fruits and menthol; this reminded me of an Oregon wine. Sweet on entry, then lush and smooth, with modest nuance and depth. Not bad, but not compelling.
