The estate
Founded in 1731 by Michel Bouchard in Beaune, the House of Bouchard Père & Fils is one of Burgundy’s most prestigious institutions. Today, the estate farms around 130 hectares across 77 climats in the Côte d'Or, including 12 hectares of Grands Crus and 74 hectares of Premiers Crus. Owned by Artémis Domaines since 2022, the House is run by Jean-Marc Pistre under the strategic oversight of Frédéric Engerer. Certified organic since 2025, the estate recently created Domaine des Cabottes, an entity bringing together its 35 most prestigious hectares and farmed biodynamically.
The vineyard
The climat Les Noirots lies to the south of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, on the border with Morey-Saint-Denis. The vines benefit from a south-eastern exposure and are planted between 250 and 300 meters above sea level. The clay-limestone terroir, made up of compact limestone enriched with silica nodules, offers ideal conditions for expressing Pinot Noir and gives the wine its hallmark finesse.
The vintage
The 2018 vintage proved sunny and generous in Burgundy. Exceptional weather conditions, particularly favorable during harvest, made it possible to obtain grapes of remarkable quality, combining concentration and balance.
Winemaking and aging
The Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Les Noirots" 2018 was aged in oak barrels, following traditional Burgundian methods that favor gravity-flow winemaking to preserve the delicacy of the fruit.
Grape variety
Pinot Noir.
