The elegance and finesse of a Premier Cru from Chambolle-Musigny
The estate
Founded in 1731, the House of Bouchard Père & Fils is a true institution in Burgundy. Established in the heart of the Château de Beaune since 1820, it oversees an exceptional estate of 130 hectares of vineyards, spread across more than 450 prestigious parcels. Historically managed by the founding family and then by the Henriot family, the estate is now majority-owned by Artémis Domaines. This transition marks a new era for the domaine, which continues its pursuit of excellence while completing the conversion of its entire vineyard to organic farming.
The vineyard
This Premier Cru comes from the Les Noirots climat, ideally located in the northern part of the Chambolle-Musigny appellation, within the renowned Côte de Nuits. The vines thrive on a gentle south-facing slope, at an altitude ranging between 250 and 300 meters. The terroir is distinguished by a homogeneous soil of compact limestone, enriched with silica and clay nodules, providing deep rooting and optimal ripening conditions. For this cuvée, the grapes come from a small 0.25-hectare parcel cultivated under contract.
The vintage
The year 2022 offered particularly favorable climatic conditions in Bourgogne, marking the return of generous yields after several years of challenging weather. The harvest yielded grapes in impeccable sanitary condition, with ideal ripeness. This favorable growing cycle produced perfectly balanced berries, preserving a fine natural freshness.
Vinification and aging
After manual harvesting in ventilated crates and rigorous sorting, the vinification of the Chambolle-Musigny 1er cru "Les Noirots" 2022 begins with a vatting period lasting 8 to 15 days. The wine then undergoes careful aging in French oak barrels for 10 to 12 months, with 25 to 30% new barrels, enhancing the aromatic complexity without masking the identity of the terroir.
