2006 Saint-Estephe 2e Cru Classe from Bordeaux
Despite a disappointing end of summer, hot weather from spring and early-summer allowed for the success of the 2006 vintage, which boasts distinctive concentration of Saint-Estephe wines. The 2006 Chateau Cos d'Estournel is 78% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 20% Merlot, and 3% Cabernet-Franc. The 2e Cru Classe from Bordeaux reveals lovely intensity with spices and liquorice. The palate is elegant and smooth. The tannins impress with great finesse: a great classic.
